How to Use

Step 1: Enter the first value.

Step 2: Enter the second value.

The percentage difference is calculated as: |V1 − V2| ÷ ((|V1| + |V2|) / 2) × 100.

This is different from percentage change, which measures directional change from one value to another.

How It Works

Percentage difference compares two values without implying one is the "original." It's useful when neither value is a clear reference point — for example, comparing prices from two stores or measurements from two instruments.

Formula: % Difference = |V1 − V2| ÷ ((|V1| + |V2|) / 2) × 100

A result of 0% means the values are identical. The maximum possible result approaches 200% when one value is near zero.
