How to Use

1. Enter the Original Price of the item before the discount (e.g. $79.99).

2. Enter the Discount Percentage (e.g. 30 for a 30% off sale).

3. The calculator instantly shows you how much you save and the final price you pay.

Example: A jacket costs $120 and is 35% off. You save $42.00 and pay $78.00.

How It Works

A discount is a reduction applied to the original price of a product or service, usually expressed as a percentage. Discount calculators are most commonly used in retail shopping, business pricing, and financial planning.

Discount Amount Formula: Discount = Original Price × (Discount % / 100). For example, 25% off $200 = $200 × 0.25 = $50 saved.

Final Price Formula: Final Price = Original Price − Discount Amount. Continuing the example: $200 − $50 = $150.

This calculator is also helpful for working backwards — if you know the sale price and want to verify the discount percentage, you can compare the results. Always remember that stacked discounts (e.g. 20% off then an extra 10% off) are not the same as a single 30% discount.
